In 2010, Salem Health’s Bariatric Surgery Center was named by the American College of Surgeons as an MBSAQIP-accredited Comprehensive Center. Salem Hospital received this accreditation again in 2013, 2016 and most recently in July 2019. The accreditation remains in effect until July 2023 when it will come up for review.            

The designation recognizes a consistent track record of favorable outcomes in weight-loss surgery.
