Over the past few weeks, hospital leaders have been planning a scheduled downtime for a required engineering fix to our switch systems in Building A-West. We have worked with physician leaders to craft this plan, originally slated for July 23. With their valuable help, we are now prepared for a second downtime, which we rescheduled for midnight to 4 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10.
We anticipate some impacts across campus. However, extensive short- and long-term mitigation plans will minimize the impact to everyone. Each area has its own set of plans depending on affected systems and processes before, during and after the downtime.
Command Center A task force team will be available from A-West 7th Floor Conference Room, from 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, through 7 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10. This team will problem-solve until we bring the affected systems up again.
