Change to VTE Prophylaxis orders reduces confusion, errors

Starting June 8, an adjustment will be made to the VTE prophylaxis orders in all admission order sets. To prevent the inadvertent ordering of anticoagulants for surgical patients, and to reduce confusion for non-surgical patients, the Start 12-18 Hours Post Surgery orders for enoxaparin and heparin have been removed. Please refer to “Current” and “Future” state illustrations below.
