Salem Health’s Heart and Vascular Services has a new option for cardiac monitoring — the Zio patch by iRhythm, a noninvasive method worn for 3 to 14 days. There are no wires, boxes, or batteries to worry about. The patch is water resistant, so patients can shower. There is no electrode changing for the patient. This monitor provides long-term continuous ECG monitoring. The report for the Zio is generated after it is worn.

Providers can refer patients who present with syncope, palpitations, fluttering, racing, vertigo, increased fatigue, anxiety, shortness of breath or other potential cardiac irregularities. Please send a completed cardiovascular order form to centralized scheduling. The cardiac monitoring patch must be selected with the duration of the monitor. See below.

CPOM providers: Zio patch order can be found under the manage orders. Code EKG0019 or keyword Zio for the order.
