“Like so much of the Willamette Valley, Woodburn is growing, with thousands of new families expected in the next 10 years,” said Salem Health President and CEO Cheryl Wolfe at the Dec. 13 opening of the Woodburn clinic.

The 31,000-square-foot clinic west of I-5 will start meeting that need on Jan. 2.  It brings “full spectrum” culturally competent care in a convenient, welcoming setting. Care includes family medicine, urgent care, lab, imaging (ultrasound, x-ray and mammography) and specialty care services — including physical therapy, OB/GYN and maternal-fetal medicine. It is Salem Health’s largest clinic.

Patients began scheduling appointments on Dec. 11 via MyChart and by calling 503-902-3900 or 844-902-3900. Online scheduling is also available for same-day urgent care appointments in English and Spanish via our website:

“Woodburn is a diverse community poised for significant growth over the next decade,” said Lee Espey, clinic administrator. “In diverse communities, language and access are often barriers to quality health care. We are addressing that by requiring all clinic staff to be bilingual and by bringing more services to Woodburn and the surrounding areas under one roof.”

The clinic is designed for “self rooming,” a unique feature that lets patients immediately check themselves into a private exam room, which reduces the time patients spend waiting to see a medical provider.

“Nobody likes waiting in the waiting room, then again in the exam room,” Espey said. “Anything we can do to create a positive experience sets the stage for their all-important discussion with the physician. It’s a win for everyone.”
