The Salem Health Peer Support Team, which launched on May 1, 2018, is seeking additional medical and clinical staff members to volunteer as Peer Supporters. The Salem Health Peer Support Team provides 24-hour care to staff and physicians at Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics. Peer Supporters take one week a quarter to be on-call to support their peers in need through telephone and in-person interactions. Those who seek out Peer Support may have experienced an adverse event in the workplace; may need an empathetic ear for a colleague; may wish to understand the types of services and support available to those in need of crisis support; or, may be seeking assurance that what they are experiencing is a normal reaction. We are seeking medical and clinical staff who are skilled and empathetic listeners and who care about improving the well-being of their colleagues, to join this important team.
